“Application Viewed” but No Response: What It Means

When an "application viewed" notice arrives, the first thought is usually "so they are looking". A few quiet days later comes the second: "they looked and didn't like it." Both read more into the notice than it says. This guide explains what the status actually shows on LinkedIn and on kariyer.net, and what it does not.

"Application viewed" on LinkedIn

According to LinkedIn's help page, this notice means the job poster opened and viewed your application on LinkedIn. A few details matter:

• It only appears for applications made on LinkedIn. You get status updates for applications sent with Easy Apply. When a posting sends you to the company's own site, LinkedIn cannot see what happens next.

• A view is not a read. The person who opened it may be a recruiter, a hiring manager, or the applicant tracking system the company uses. Being opened does not mean being read carefully.

• "Resume downloaded" is a somewhat stronger signal. It shows the job poster downloaded or opened the CV file you attached, usually to look at it in more detail or to forward it to someone.

LinkedIn says so plainly: an application view or a resume download does not guarantee a message, an interview or an offer. You can see these statuses under My Jobs and on the posting you applied to.

What kariyer.net shows

kariyer.net's application list does not show a detailed status per application. On our own Başvurularım screen, each application only said "Başvurun … tarihinde iletildi" (your application was delivered on …). The posting page sometimes carries a note such as "Şirket başvuruları 15+ gün önce inceledi" (the company reviewed applications 15+ days ago); that note is about when the company last looked at that posting's applications, not about yours. If you get a notice that a company viewed your CV, the same rule applies: it shows a company opened your CV, not that it made a decision.

Viewed, then silence: how to read it

Being viewed and then hearing nothing is the most ordinary state of an application. Companies often screen applications in bulk, move a handful to a shortlist and never get back to the rest. You cannot tell from the notice whether a viewed application was rejected or is moving forward.

What works is using the notice as a timestamp:

• Not viewed: the process may not have started for your application yet. If the posting is still open, waiting is normal.

• Viewed: your application reached a person or a system. The next two weeks are usually when the first screening happens.

• Viewed more than two weeks ago and still silent: take it off the list you check every day. If they come back one day, you can still consider it.

The platforms don't keep your status; you do
