Frequently asked questions
What happens if someone gets hold of my Chrome extension token?
That token grants full access to your account. If you suspect it's been exposed, go to Settings → Browser Extension and "Revoke" it immediately, then generate a new one.
Can I get my data back after deleting my account?
No. Account deletion can't be undone; your applications, your tracked jobs, your CVs, your imports, your reminders, your email suggestions and notifications, your company reviews, the salary entries you shared, your candidate experiences and the feedback you sent are permanently deleted. You can export your data from Account Settings before deleting.
What if the Chrome extension reads a job's details wrong?
Nothing gets submitted automatically — every field is editable before you click "I Applied", the popup just gives you a starting point.
Does Gmail Scanning read my whole inbox?
No. It's off by default, and once turned on it only reads an email you personally open in Gmail — never your inbox list, never a message you didn't open. The check runs on your device; only a short summary of an email that looks job-application-related is ever sent to e-kariyerim.
Can I import a file other than my LinkedIn export (e.g. Excel/CSV)?
Not currently — the only import path is LinkedIn's own data export .zip file.
Can I edit a job I'm tracking?
There's no direct edit for Tracked Jobs; if the details are wrong, remove it and re-add it, or if you've already applied, convert it with "Mark as Applied" and update the details on the Application edit page.
How many Chrome extension tokens can I have?
Up to 10 active tokens at once. You'll need to revoke one you're not using before generating a new one.
Why does employment type always show "Full-Time" on imported or extension-added applications?
Neither LinkedIn's export nor the job pages the extension reads specify an employment type, so it defaults to "FullTime" — edit the application afterwards if you need the correct type.
Can I change or delete many applications at once?
Yes. Tick the rows on the Applications list — or use the "select all matching" link to reach every application the current filter matches — and the action bar at the bottom offers a status change or a delete.
I bulk-changed the wrong applications. Can I undo it?
A bulk status change can be undone from the strip that stays on the list afterwards; applications you have moved on yourself since are left where they are. A bulk delete cannot be undone — which is why it asks for a tick, and for the word typed in when it covers everything matching a filter.
Is my CV shown to employers?
No. Files on the My CVs page are visible only to you, are never sent to a third party or to any AI service, and are not read or analysed (the one exception: if you turn on the paid weekly job matching and give separate consent, the text of your default CV is sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI to be compared with postings; details in the "Weekly job matching" section of the privacy policy) — recording which CV an application went out with is a note to yourself. The account-free CV scan doesn't store your file either, and the score is computed on our server; only if you tick the optional "writing notes" box is the CV text sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI, and it is not kept there. The details are in the "CV scan" section of the privacy policy.
I have several applications at the same company. Can I see them together?
Switch the View toggle above the Applications list from "List" to "Company". A page then holds companies rather than rows, so one company's applications are never split across two pages.
Is the company review I wrote anonymous?
Yes. A published review shows neither your name, your email nor the day; only the month and your relationship with the company (current, former, intern). Only moderators can see who wrote it, and only for moderation.
Why isn't my review visible?
A review is published the moment you save it. If it is not on the company page, either a moderator took it down after a report — the reason is on the My Reviews page; edit it and it goes back to a moderator — or it was written before 16 September 2026 in the old free-text format and is still waiting in the queue.
What can I use on e-kariyerim without an account?
Three things: CV Scan (your CV's ATS readability), the reply rate benchmark, and reading company reviews. Tracking applications, the dashboard, the Chrome extension and writing a review need a free account.
What are weekly postings and what do they cost?
The Pro plan's feature: every Monday, new postings matching your criteria are compared with your CV and scored. Monthly or yearly, prepaid; the price is on the Pro plan page, VAT included; there is no automatic renewal.
Is my CV sent to an AI?
Only for the Pro plan's scoring, only if you explicitly allowed it on the criteria form, and only to Vertex AI (EU). Otherwise your CV is never sent to any AI service; you can withdraw the consent at any time.
Can I get a refund on the Pro plan?
Yes. Within 7 days of the payment date you get a full refund without giving a reason; after seven days the time you used is deducted, the rest is refunded and Pro ends at that moment. Open the request under Settings › Plan and payments or e-mail support@ekariyerim.com with your order number; we reply within 3 business days at the latest and the refund goes back to the same card through PayTR.
How do I cancel the Pro plan?
There is nothing to cancel: Pro is a prepaid period, there is no automatic renewal and no card on file. We e-mail you three days before the end; if you do not extend, nothing is charged and the plan simply ends on its end date. Your data stays as it is.
My payment was interrupted or failed; was my card charged?
If the payment window closed, you chose "Cancel" or your bank declined, nothing was charged; you can start the same plan again. If the result page says "verifying", we are waiting for the bank's confirmation: even if you close the page, we e-mail you once the result is final and it shows under Settings › Plan and payments. If your card was charged and the payment is still not recognised after a few hours, write to us via Feedback.
Is the salary I share anonymous, and who sees it?
Yes. A salary entry never shows your name, e-mail or account; readers see the occupation you picked from the list, your experience as a band (0–1, 2–4, 5–9, 10+ years), your employment type, whether you are a current or former employee, the month and the amount. There is no free text. Only signed-in users can read salary entries; you can edit or delete yours on My Salaries.
