The offer comparison: the offer form on the left, and on the right the verdict saying which offer leaves more a year, with a breakdown bar per offer.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Enter the offers

For each offer, choose whether the salary is gross or net and enter the monthly amount. Enter the bonus as a number of monthly salaries a year (2 for a "14-salary" year), the meal card at its daily value including VAT, and health insurance and pension contributions at what the employer pays a month.

  2. 2

    Add how you would work

Enter how many days a week you would work remotely and what an office day costs you (travel, lunch). Office days are deducted from the annual total at that cost.

  3. 3

    Read the result

At the top, which offer leaves more a year and by how much, with each offer’s net salary, bonus, benefits and office costs; below, what you take home each month. You can add a third offer or go back to the examples.

Gross or net?

Offers in Turkey come in two forms. In a gross agreement tax and social security come out of your pay, so as the income tax bracket rises through the year you take home less. In a net agreement the same amount is paid every month and the employer covers the tax increase. The tool computes both; ask the employer in writing which one your offer is.

Why does net pay fall during the year?

Income tax is charged on the base accumulated since January. In the month the total passes ₺190,000 the rate goes from 15% to 20%, and past ₺400,000 to 27%. Even with the same gross salary, the net drops after those months; a bonus month enlarges the base and so affects the months after it too. The month-by-month chart shows this.

What is not included

Disability allowances, starting mid-month, income from more than one employer, employer incentives and contract-specific terms are not included. A single bonus salary is taken as paid in December, two in June and December, more every three months. 22 working days a month are assumed.

This is an estimate

The results are an informational calculation under the rules and assumptions stated on the page; they are not payroll, tax or legal advice. The actual amount may differ with the employer’s payroll. Before accepting an offer, confirm the gross and net amounts in writing with the employer and, if needed, consult an accountant.
